BBC Sesh live stand up comedy show set

BBC Sesh is a new social channel from BBC Wales – aimed at young adults – that showcases the country’s most exciting new talent. With daily videos on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

The BBC hosted a live stand up evening as a platform for this talented group. Eight stand up acts performed on the night with the talented Ignacio Lopez as compère.

To help deliver the show Morgans Consult were tasked to design and build the entire backdrop and stage surround while working to a tight brief and deadline. Following a site survey with the production team we were able to determine their requirements and develop a solution that would reflect the importance of this marquee evening. Once designs were approved we immediately commenced production. The majority of the flattage framing was produced off site and assembled on the day of the event, the framing was dressed with black curtain providing a seamless black backdrop and an entrance way for the acts. Mounted to the rear frame was a concrete textured red wash design with a 3D mounted Sesh logo to the face, providing the Centrepoint of the stage and focal point for the acts and cameras. Two large freestanding illuminated towers provided additional lighting and brand placement and the rotating gobo light provided a dramatic curtain entrance for the acts.

Once complete the spectacular set provided the perfect setting for this, hopefully first of many, #standupsesh evenings!
