Cosmeston Lakes has been a much-loved country park covering over 100 hectares of land and water since its opening in 1978 in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan, so Morgans Consult were thrilled when presented with the opportunity to work alongside 35 Percent and the Vale of Glamorgan Council to help modernise a wide range of signage throughout the nature reserve.
With approximately 250,000 visitors to the site each year, and the area being a true haven for local wildlife and plantae – some areas of the park have been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest – it’s easy to see why signage plays such an important role for those visiting Cosmeston Lakes.

Signs to Educate Visitors
As well as standard wayfinding and directional signage being installed to help visitors navigate their way around all areas of the reserve, information signs were installed to educate visitors about the abundance of local wildlife and nature that surrounds the stunning environment throughout Cosmeston Lakes. Some of this informative and educational signage is in the form of creative games constructed from wood materials, helping children and adults alike to learn while having fun during family visits.
