As we reflect on past milestones in 2024, we’re delighted to revisit a significant achievement for Morgans Consult. The STEAM Academy at Bridgend College, one of our standout projects, was proudly shortlisted for the prestigious Construction Excellence in Wales (CEW) Building Project of the Year Award in 2022. This recognition underscored the innovative design and collaborative effort that brought this state-of-the-art educational facility to life, setting a benchmark for sustainable and forward-thinking construction in Wales.
In 2023, the STEAM Academy at Bridgend College was awarded the ‘Inspiring Learning Spaces’ Award, recognizing its outstanding contribution to modern educational design. This accolade celebrates the academy’s innovative approach to creating a dynamic, inspiring environment that enhances the student experience. The award highlights the success of the project in fostering creativity, collaboration, and engagement, and reflects the careful planning and vision that went into developing a space tailored to the needs of today’s learners.

Our collaboration with ISG Construction on the STEAM Academy at Bridgend College remains a standout project in our portfolio. We were honoured to contribute to this innovative educational space by designing, creating, and implementing a comprehensive suite of internal and external branding elements. This included bespoke wayfinding signage and a vibrant creative graphics scheme, seamlessly integrated to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the build.
Bridgend College aimed to create an academy that harmonized with its surroundings while standing out with a sleek, modern design. The focus was on delivering a space that combined architectural sophistication with the functionality needed for a state-of-the-art teaching environment.
Opened in September 2021, the £30 million STEAM Academy at Bridgend College stands as a premier centre in South Wales for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, with its name reflecting the diverse range of fields it encompasses.
