Case Study: Supporting the BBC at the Royal Welsh Show.

Morgans Consult has once again supported the BBC Cymru Wales presence at the Royal Welsh Show, one of Europe’s biggest annual agricultural and lifestyle festivals. Here’s a look at our work at the Royal Welsh Show, and our relationship with BBC.

For over a century, the Royal Welsh Show has played a pivotal role in shaping agriculture and the rural economy in Wales. As the premier event in the British agricultural calendar, it offers four days packed with competitions, entertainment, and attractions. For the past 19 years, Morgans Consult has been proud to support the BBC at the show, creatively transforming their space each year to reflect the annual theme and captivate audiences throughout the event.

This year, the spotlight was on Women in Sport, a powerful and inspiring theme we brought to life through bold design and immersive storytelling.

BBC at The Royal Welsh Show

This year at the Royal Welsh Show, the BBC’s presence took on a bold and empowering theme: Women in Sport. Their space celebrated the achievements, stories, and voices of women breaking boundaries across the sporting world.

From live broadcasts to interactive content, the BBC created an immersive experience that both informed and inspired. Morgans Consult brought this vision to life through striking visuals, creative use of space, and thoughtful design elements that captured the energy and resilience of female athletes. The result was a vibrant, engaging environment that invited visitors of all ages to connect with the theme and each other.

The Space

The BBC Cymru Wales Pavillion, a purpose-built space at the Royal Welsh Show, has been thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming and engaging environment for visitors. With a spacious front area featuring a large TV wall and a prominent projection wall facing outward, the building captures attention and showcases compelling content to those attending the show.

Beyond the sliding doors lies a versatile open space, which in previous years has hosted immersive experiences such as silent discos and interactive promotions for the BBC Sounds app.

The inclusion of glass doors at the front of the building allows natural light to flood the interior, enhancing the atmosphere and creating a bright, inviting setting.

This carefully considered design not only maximises visitor engagement but also reinforces the BBC’s dynamic presence at the show, providing a flexible space that celebrates both innovation and connection with the community.

What We Did

To bring this year’s Women in Sport theme to life, Morgans Consult carried out a full visual refresh of the BBC’s Royal Welsh Show space, both inside and out.

Externally, we updated last year’s vinyl with a vibrant new summer design and installed a branded window graphic to enhance visibility. A custom external sign was also fitted to the railings, ensuring the BBC’s presence was instantly recognisable to attendees.

Inside, we applied a bold vinyl wallpaper featuring iconic women in sport, while the TV wall was reimagined with striking graphics that spotlight some of the BBC’s most celebrated programmes. The front projection wall was transformed from white to black using sleek vinyl wrap, overlaid with welcoming graphics that invited visitors into the space.

In the rear room, we refreshed the phone display with bold visuals promoting H’s Party Playlist and the BBC Sounds app, while the fabric lightboxes were brought up to date with dynamic new artwork. And of course, no Royal Welsh Show would be complete without a nod to tradition, this year, the beloved iconic welly boot made its return, adding a playful and familiar touch to the experience.
