Technical Product Designer

The position

As part of our ongoing growth and development we require a Technical Product Designer to join in-house design team producing technical drawings for manufacture & print. Working with supplied artwork & brand guidelines, ensuring consistency & accuracy across work produced for production.

Required Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • A degree level qualification in Product Design or technical design equivalent.
  • Ability to create detailed technical drawings ready for production.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite with particular focus on Adobe Illustrator.
  • A strong aptitude for technical design and attention to detail
  • The capability to take projects from the initial brief stage through to finished production ready product.
  • To be comfortable communicating directly with a large range of B2B clients in a professional and friendly manner, forging lasting relationships.
  • To be able to demonstrate flexibility to produce a range of core business work as and when required.
  • To work in a deadline driven environment and be able to demonstrate time management skills.
  • Great communication skills and work seamlessly with numerous internal departments.
  • A varied portfolio of existing work demonstrating your creative and practical design skills.
  • Art working graphic design experience working with supplied artwork and brand guidelines.

Desirable skills

  • Experience working in a manufacturing / signage environment
  • 3D design experience
  • Understanding of Welsh language
  • 3D Printing Experience

The right candidate will be self-motivated, hardworking with exceptional time management skills. They will approach every project in a positive manner to ensure the highest level of service is delivered at all times.

Salary: Dependant on the level of skills and experience

Working hours: 40 hours per week with flexible hours.

Sign maker / Machine operator

The position
As part of our ongoing growth and development we require a Sign maker / Machine operator to join in-house production team.

Required Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Punctual.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials. Manual handling training will be given.
  • Have good work ethic, be keen and self‐motivated
  • The ability to interpret briefs accurately and a strong understanding of signage and manufacturing techniques
  • Good attention to detail
  • Computer Literate
  • Have good understanding of industry standard design software such as Adobe Illustrator
  • Can pick up new techniques & machinery easily
  • An effective communicator to work within a team
  • Driving licence would be beneficial

Preferred but not essential Qualifications, experience and skills

  • CSCS Card
  • Manual handling and abrasive wheels training
  • First Aid at work training

Primary requirements & duties

  • Learn all aspects of sign making and production processes.
  • Follow job file instructions and accurately and ensure the highest level of quality on every job.
  • Assist with digital file production and the sending of files to production equipment/machinery

Person profile

This position will require the successful candidate to be well organised, neat & tidy, self-motivated and prepared to work hard whilst attaining a very high professional standard in all that they do. They will need to be presentable and well spoken, calm and responsible and someone who can be trusted.

Working conditions and physical effort

This position requires some physical effort and the post holder must be physically fit and must declare any illness or medical condition during the induction.
There may be exposure to physical risk from lifting / manual handling materials.
Manual handling training will be given.
A full health and safety induction and job specific training will be given.
